Emma is Born

Emma was born on November 28, 2015. She came a month early, probably because she couldn't wait to meet her Dad! She wasn't as tiny as I was expecting her to be. She had jaundice and her lungs weren't fully developed. She had to wear an eye mask because the lights for the jaundice were so bright. She had all these things hooked up to her and it looked awful.

I was completely overwhelmed the first time I saw her. Even with all the wires and things on her face, she was my baby. I was so happy she was finally here. I touched her arm and her tummy and stroked her hair. I couldn't hold or kiss her yet because she was in the NICU. I was finally a Dad!
